Home Depot Free Kids Workshops 2026: Everything You Need to Know
Looking for a fun (and completely free) activity for the kids each month? Home Depot’s Kids Workshops are back for 2026, giving children the chance to build, create, and learn through hands-on projects at participating stores nationwide.
How Do Home Depot Kids Workshops Work?
On the first Saturday of most months, Home Depot hosts a free in-store workshop where kids can build a themed wooden project and take it home when they’re finished.
Participation is free, but registration is recommended. Reserving a spot helps ensure your child has a kit waiting when you arrive.

After registering, simply head to your local Home Depot during workshop hours and check in at the event area. Kids will receive their project kit and can build it in-store with assistance from parents and store associates.
What’s Included?
Each registered child receives:
A free wooden project kit
A collectible workshop pin
A certificate of achievement
A Home Depot Kids Workshop apron (for first-time participants)
The workshops are designed for children ages 5–12 and are a great way to encourage creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning.

If you weren’t able to attend a workshop or missed out on a project you really wanted, there’s still a chance to get it.
Home Depot often makes select Kids Workshop kits available for purchase online for around $4.98 each, with free store pickup available at many locations. Purchased kits typically include the project materials along with the same workshop-themed extras. CHECK HERE
