Target’s Fall Car Seat Trade-In Event is officially live! From September 20 through October 3, 2026, you can trade in an old car seat and receive a 20% off Target Circle Bonus toward qualifying new baby gear.
How the Car Seat Trade-In Event Works
Bring an old car seat or car seat base to your local Target and place it inside the designated collection box, usually located near Guest Services.
Scan the barcode on the box with your phone, then tap “Add to Target Circle Bonus.” Your 20% discount should appear inside the Wallet section of the Target app.
The bonus can be used twice on qualifying purchases before it expires on October 17, 2026. Target also confirms that the bonus can be combined with other eligible offers for additional savings.
What Car Seats Can You Trade In?
Target accepts several types of car seats, including:
- Infant car seats
- Convertible car seats
- Harness and booster seats
- Car seat bases
- Expired or damaged car seats

Check for Extra Target Circle Offers to Stack
Before checking out, open each product page and look under “Deals” or “Target Circle offers.” Target specifically says the trade-in bonus can stack with other eligible offers, so you may be able to combine the 20% discount with a sale price or an additional Circle coupon.
Make sure every available offer is saved to your account before placing your order. Available coupons can vary by product, size, location and Target Circle account.
