Heads up, parents! Target’s popular Car Seat Trade-In Event is coming back this fall. From September 20 through October 3, 2026, you can trade in an old car seat and receive a 20% off Target Circle Bonus toward a qualifying new car seat or select baby gear.
How the Target Car Seat Trade-In Event Works
Bring an old car seat or car seat base to a participating Target store during the event. The trade-in boxes are typically located near Guest Services.
After dropping off your car seat, scan the barcode displayed on the box using your phone. Tap “Add to Target Circle Bonus,” and the 20% discount will be added to the Wallet in your Target app.
According to Target’s official event page, the bonus can be used twice before it expires on October 17, 2026. It can also be combined with other eligible offers for even more savings.
What Can You Trade In?
Target accepts several types of car seats, including:
- Infant car seats
- Convertible car seats
- Booster and harness seats
- Car seat bases
- Expired or damaged car seats
What Can You Buy With the 20% Discount?
The Target Circle Bonus can be applied toward qualifying baby gear, including:
- New car seats and car seat bases
- Booster seats
- Travel systems
- Strollers and stroller wagons
- High chairs
- Playards
- Swings
- Bouncers and rockers
- Baby walkers
- Entertainers and jumpers
The offer can be used for qualifying purchases online or in stores. Exclusions apply, so check the offer details in your Target Circle Wallet before ordering. Target’s FAQ notes that clearance items and products sold and shipped by Target Plus are excluded.
